Remind (Please provide a cell phone number Hi!! My name is Ms. Choudhary, and I will be teaching your child Reading this year! I love what I do! I try to make Reading fun and engaging while having high expectations. I look forward to a great year! achoud@sisd.net 915-937-7500 (school) Remind (Please provide a cell phone number so that we may communicate via text.) We will be covering fiction and poetry in the month of August. In fifth grade, we go beyond identifying similes and metaphors to evaluating the impact of figurative language in text. You can help your child by pointing out things that are said that are not literal and have a deeper meaning. You can ask them if they understand what it means. For example, “that’s a piece of cake” means that it is easy or “he is blue today” means he is feeling sad. Thank you for your help! Please make sure your child is completing his or her Reading Log every Monday through Thursday evening.
