Equinix IXP Update Feb 7-8, 2000 NANOG 18 – San Jose

Interconnection Media Equinix’s primary exchange model is a “dark fiber” exchange--private cross connects are the primary method for participants to trade traffic. ASX-4000 with OC3 and OC12 ports; OC48 possible, but higher speeds mostly dark fiber; lower speeds mostly direct copper. Non-blocking fabric; configurations permit asymmetric PVCs (CBR and UBR PVCs supported) Feb 7-8, 2000 NANOG 18 – San Jose
