Skills Canada - Team Ontario 2018 Welcome and Congratulations! Now you are on to EDMONTON June 1-6, 2018

SKILLS CANADA – TEAM ONTARIO

Skills Canada National Competition 500 secondary, post-secondary and apprenticeship students from all areas of Canada to compete in over 40 trade and technology contests in an Olympic-style event.

All confirmations will be emailed to each participant and advisor TEAM ONTARIO 2018 Edmonton June 1 - Departure Flights, Arrive at Hotel & Team Dinner June 2 - Team Building Event June 3 - Free time and Opening Ceremonies June 4 - Competition Day June 5 - Competition Day June 6 - Closing Ceremonies and return flights All confirmations will be emailed to each participant and advisor

Best Western Cedar Park Edmonton The hotel has complimentary internet access, and hot breakfast daily. The hotel is located about 20 minutes from the Competition Site. There is a restaurant at the hotel and a number of restaurants within walking distance to the hotel.

June 2 - Team Building 9:00am - Depart Hotel with tool boxes to go to the EXPO site to register and drop off tool boxes for competition 10:00 AM – Head to West Edmonton Mall for team building activities and lunch 1:30 PM – Afternoon at leisure in the Mall 5:00pm – 9:00 pm – shuttles from Mall to Hotel

Team Ontario Package Includes Registration fees for 2018 National Competition Return flights with Air Canada including all airport taxes Baggage fees for maximum of 1 bags per person (2 bags for competitors). Charter bus service to and from Edmonton airport to hotel Charter bus service to team building event Pre-paid gratuities for all private buses used for Team Ontario 5 nights accommodation at the Best Western Cedar Park hotel including all taxes and service charges Breakfast daily including tax and gratuity Sightseeing and Team Building day on June 2nd including Lunch Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony Team Ontario shirt, Flags and Bam Bams Closing Award Ceremony

Toolboxes Competitor’s name Province / Territory  To ensure that toolboxes are correctly located in each event site for contest start time and security purposes, toolboxes must be securely packed in appropriate containers and must have labels clearly stating the following (Labels are on the Team Ontario webpage):  Competitor’s name Province / Territory Contest Number Contest Name Failure to comply with this labeling system may mean that toolboxes will not be accepted at the Registration. Toolboxes must be labeled properly before Skills Canada – Edmonton takes possession and responsibility for the toolboxes. Air Canada baggage allowances. All Bags are now charged a fee so please pack conservatively. Max. weight per bag: 23kg (50lb) Max. linear dimensions per bag: 158 cm (62in) For an extra fee we can take bags up to the following weight and size, but not over that. Overweight bag: for bags between 23-32kg (50-70lb) Oversized bag: between 158-292cm (63-115in) Any bags/tool boxes over these sizes and weights cannot go on the flight with you and must go cargo and will arrive in 2 to 3 days…… much too late for your competition.

Total cost of the pre-paid package Competitors shared room $ 1869.00 Advisors shared room $ 1869.00 Single accommodation(limited) is available to Advisors only, at an additional charge of $370.00

Terms and procedures for booking You must visit the Team Ontario webpage listed on the card you received with your medal to access the registration forms www.skillsontario.com/teamontariotrip Registration forms are to be completed and submitted by Friday, May 11th to confirm your participation Both the Skills Canada registration form and the Vision online booking form must be received for your registration to be complete A limited number of rooms are available for our Team Ontario group. It is essential that you contact Janet at Vision Travel to confirm your Airfare and hotel package This is done separately from your registration with the Skills office and is due by Friday, May 11th.
