Professional Governance: A Council for How UPC/ DPC   Each unit / department will have a council Facility level: Structural Empowerment Councils (SE) Members include bedside clinicians as chairs with leadership mentors empower and engage nurses in cultivating strong professional practice at UCLA Health foster nursing excellence promote professional development, nurse recognition promote a positive image of professional nursing System level: Professional Development Council (PDC) Members include bedside clinicians as chairs, SE Council Chairs, chairs of other system councils and leadership mentors provides a mechanism for UCLA Health nurses to participate in analyzing their own developmental and learning needs enhance clinical competency, ongoing knowledge and skill development promote continuous professional growth.
