Diverting for Processing USDA Foods further processing allows LEAs to contract with commercial food processors to convert raw and/or bulk USDA Foods into ready-to-use end products Must have procurement in place PRIOR to diverting product Diversion requests due same date as Pre-order Survey
Diversions
Diversions Requirement: LEAs must utilize their previous school years diverted USDA Foods inventory by June 30 of the current school year Process: Ending balances not processed and delivered by June 30 of the school year is considered Excess Inventory. LEAs who anticipate Excess Inventory must submit a corrective action plan for approval to FDP by August 30. Excess Inventory not addressed in an approved corrective action plan will be transferred to the state account on August 30.
