Japan By 600, Japanese culture reflected a blend of Chinese and native Japanese influences 7th c. Taika reforms sought to restructure Japanese gov’t acc. to Chinese model New capital established in Kyoto

Program of centralization ultimately failed Feudal system developed

Korea Chinese influence became extensive during the “Three Kingdoms Period” Silla became 1st independent Korean kingdom in 7th c. -Tributary state to China -Modeled itself on Tang Improved on Chinese pottery-making and printing
