Woodbury Soccer Club 2018 Curriculum 6v6 Team Shape Woodbury Soccer Club 2018 Curriculum

6v6 Attacking Team Shape

6v6 Team Shape 1-3-2 Formation #1- Goalkeeper #3- Left back #4-Center back #2- Right back #8- Center midfielder #9- Forward

6v6 Team Shape Main Attacking Ideas: 1 is the first line of attack and should distribute the ball to feet 2/3 need to get forward and help the attack (the player on the side of the ball should go forward) 2/3 give width to the field 8 is an “attacker” when we have the ball and staying central so the field can be connected side to side 9 should stay high and look for gaps to find the ball

6v6 Team Shape Main Defending Ideas: 9 should pressure the other team into mistakes or predictable play 8 should help 9 in their pursuit of the ball and get behind the ball if it is lost When 8/9 are pressing, 3/4/2 need to step up and close the gap 4 should be the reference point for 2/3 to know where to be. They should be close to 4 and slightly ahead of them 1 should stay connected to 3/4/2 (not standing on their goal line)
