I’D LIKE TO GET TO KNOW YOU!!

What Are Your Interviewing Concerns?

Reserved or Somewhere In-Between? Are you … Outgoing, Reserved or Somewhere In-Between?

What Are Your Thoughts About This Statement?

“ACT AS IF” CERTAINLY HAS ITS PLACE!

WE’RE CONDITIONED TO THINK THAT THE ONLY WAY TO GET A JOB OR MAKE AN IMPACT IN LIFE IS TO BECOME A CONFIDENT, HIGH-ENERGY PERFORMER. ~John Lees~

Finding an Authentic Style Focus on evidence, not ego Practice packaging your evidence into memorable stories Seek conversations, not speech-making opportunities Talk about subjects that inspire, motivate and energize you

What Does Being Authentic Sound Like? Focus On The Story, Rather Than The Storyteller…I DID, is far more convincing than I AM Instead Of: “I’m a great team leader”. How About: “Let me tell you about the last team I worked in a team situation”, or “Let me tell you about the impact of that project”. Instead Of: “I was employee of the year (5 years in a row)”. How About: “My manager was delighted with my part in the project”.

The Star Technique (taken from the WorkSource Interviewing Techniques workbook)
