Presentation transcript:

The official birthday of Queen (sometimes referred to simply as "Queen's Birthday") - the day that officially celebrated the birthday of the monarch of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth (usually does not coincide with the real birthday). Date varies from country to country and only symbolizes the birthday of the ruler (the current monarch, Elizabeth II, was born April 21, 1926).

Held every last Sunday of August. This street festival for two days, during which time, everyone is trying to put on a fancy or extravagant clothes, music played nonstop until late, fairs are held with a variety of dishes and many other interesting activities. Sometimes the streets playing famous musicians and orchestras perform Caribbean or Arabic music.

On this night, the fifth after Halloween, there is a failure of the Gunpowder plot, when a group of Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up the British Parliament in London on the night of November 5, 1605, during a speech from the throne of the Protestant King James I, when, apart from him, at the House of Lords would be present members of both Houses of Parliament and representatives of the supreme judicial authority of the country. Guy Fawkes tried to set fire in the basement of the Palace of Westminster barrels of gunpowder. One of the partners warned royal Lord William Parker on the intended explosion and said that he did not come the next day at the palace building. Lord decided to save not only their lives, but also the royal life. He warned the king, and the next day Guy was arrested and taken to the Tower. In the UK, Guy Fawkes night fireworks and bonfires are lit on which burn an effigy of Guy Fawkes. And before the boys begging for coins " for a great guy Guy " to buy firecrackers.
