MEXICO] Training and Tutoring Feedback June 2016 [Ms. VERÓNICA GÓDINEZ, CNSNS]

Cooperation Projects in T&T 2014-2015 European Commission projects Bilateral International IAEA projects TC National Regional Others

Future Needs in the present Training and Tutoring Catalogue * Due to the increase in the work load at the CNSNS during the last years, it was approved by the government an increase of 35 new technical positions at CNSNS, and these positions should be filled this year. *At the same time the organization is suffering an increase in the natural staff turnover. This two items have an impact on the future training needs, that includes mostly training course for new employees, and also for senior staff, like: Induction to Nuclear Safety, Safety Assessment for NRA, Review and Assessment for Nuclear Facilities, etc.. INSC coordination meeting on T&T

Future Needs NOT in the present Training and Tutoring Catalogue Together with this increase in the number of personal at CNSNS, the structural organization is being modified, principally by including a new Division of Physical Security and Radiological Environmental Surveillance. At the same time the CNSNS is working in an important improvement of the Regulatory Framework for Safety Transport of radioactive material and for physical security. Therefore; at the CNSNS there is future needs that are not present in the Training and Tutoring Catalogue like Radiological Environmental Surveillance and also in Cybersecurity. INSC coordination meeting on T&T

Lessons Learned: Good Practices. The training courses attended by CNSNS staff was very illustrative and usefull. They support the development of the staff skill incresing their capabilities and expertise. A minor problem is to join the availability of the nominees with the schedule of the training courses, usually we are required to present more than one nominee but unfortunately due to the load work specially not - planed activities, it is not always possible to present more than one nominee.

Lessons Learned: What could be improved? We suggest to increase the topic of the training courses specially for Physical Security, Safety Transport of Radioactive Material, Radiological Environmental Surveillance and Cybersecurity for Nuclear Power Plants.

Final Remarks/ Conclusion The training courses supplied by European Commission are very useful for the development of the staff skill. The evaluations of the impact of this training have showed positive results in the accomplishment of the Mission of the CNSNS in general. We suggest the expansion of the topics of the catalogue of the training courses.
