Title III Improvement Plans 2-Year status Oregon Department of Education October, 2012

ESEA Title III: Sec 3122 (2) IMPROVEMENT PLAN- If a State educational agency determines, based on the annual measurable achievement objectives described in subsection (a), that an eligible entity has failed to make progress toward meeting such objectives for 2 consecutive years, the agency shall require the entity to develop an improvement plan that will ensure that the entity meets such objectives. The improvement plan shall specifically address the factors that prevented the entity from achieving such objectives.

An improvement plan should focus only on those things that we intend to improve or refine, not everything that we are already doing. Include all other activities related to the ELD program in the district’s ELL Plan of Service.

MAIN PURPOSE OF IPs TO INCREASE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT THUS FACILITATING MEETING THE AMAOs The IP addresses each of the AMAOs not met. Activities to improve student achievement on each AMAOs are directly related to each SMART Goal.
