Denver Southeast Rotary Club Awards 2018 Helping Hands Award Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brush For the multi-year project at Ruby Hill Charter School that provides after-school tutoring, vocational talks, and demos, and the 4-Way Test to students who are at-risk and struggling to overcome obstacles. Sculpture loaned;$500 Les Bevans Pacesetter Award Dr. Stephen Petty Sponsored by the Rotary Club of University Hills Dr. Petty was recognized for exemplifying and contributing to the ideal of Vocational Service with his contribution to medicine in both treatment and teaching in the U.S. as well as in countless underserved areas around the world. $1000 Paul Harris donation.

Literacy Award Sponsored by Rotary Club of Englewood For the DENVER SAFE FROM THE START (DCAC) program that used literacy to empower children to recognize when their safety is jeopardized and to reach out for help. Outstanding Active Senior Award Les Johnson Sponsored by Rotary Club of Boulder For demonstrating a lifetime of achievement for good in the world, both in and out of Rotary, Les Johnson, Colonel USAFR (Ret.), was recognized for his sustained service to veterans and to youth via RYLA Plus. Rotary Mental Health Initiatives Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Boulder Valley The State of the State luncheon and Mental Wellness expo had the greatest impact on Mental Health Education & Awareness in our district. $750 for future project.

World Community Service Award Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Denver Mile High Our Global Grant to reduce and prevent pelvic organ prolapse in the Makwanpur District, Nepal, made an exceptionally significant contribution to world understanding through an international project. Youth Service Award Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Smoky Hill This award recognizes the positive impact the club’s Colorado I Have a Dream project has had and will have on more than 900 students at Ruby Hill Elementary school. $500 award Family of Rotary Award – Club District Award The club that has a Family of Rotary Chair, and has best used some of the suggested activities of the Family of Rotary emphasis in scheduling the club’s activities for the year.
