She was raise in a Quaker church that taught her that everyone should be treated equally. Was fired from being a teacher because she complained men making more money for doing the same job as her. She wanted to work for justice, or fair treatment of all people. Anthony was an abolitionist and was friends with Frederick Douglass.

Important Facts Anthony worked with Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Stanton wrote speeches and Anthony would read those speeches at conventions. Started an anti-slavery grouped called the Women’s National Loyal League. Women won the right to vote in 1920. Anthony did NOT live to see women win the right to vote.
