Rest In the Waiting   Enduring faith is found in the presence of the Lord as we seek him one step at a time.

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 46: 1-10 God is our refuge and strength, a very present[b] help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 46 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 46 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire.

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 46 10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah.

Rest In the Waiting Hebrews 4:1-3 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest…

Rest In the Waiting Hebrews 4: 9-11 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for any one who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

Have faith…don’t doubt…obey His Word Rest In the Waiting Have faith…don’t doubt…obey His Word Psalm 46:1-2

Rest In the Waiting 1. Have faith…don’t doubt…obey His Word 2. Stand Strong…don’t give up. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 46: 4, 10 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 37: 3-5 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 37: 6-7 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. 7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 37: 8-9 8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. 9 For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

Rest In the Waiting 3. Live in community…don’t isolate…HIS peace is reflected through grace. Psalm 46: 6, 10-11 God’s peace is best experienced in our personal life when we share our life publicly.

Rest In the Waiting Psalm 46: 6, 10-11 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts… “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Rest In the Waiting Mark 4:37-38 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

Rest In the Waiting Mark 4:39-40 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”

Rest In the Waiting 4. Wait on God…don’t rush… He is ordering your steps. Psalm 46 Discernment is simply a measure of your capacity to know what to do when you don’t know what to do.

Rest In the Waiting Prayer gives you the ability to rest after you’ve discovered the regular discipline of prayer. Stop striving…believe God to give you the strength to wait on God.
