Victor Hugo French writer (novels, poems, etc.). He was also an artist. Outside of France, he’s most famous for Les Miserables and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Largely considered one of the most famous French writers ever. Grew up during a time of political turmoil. He was a Romantic (emphasis on emotion).

Victor Hugo Poems In pairs, decide what his poems are talking about. Explain it in a paragraph for each poem. Then, decide on the tone of each poem and write the tone next to the poem. Next, decide on three specific places in the poem (and label) that best illustrate its tone; explain why these sections best show the tone of the poem.
