CREEA: Compiling and Refining Environmental and Economic Accounts WP7 project: financed by EU Goal: a) To refine and elaborate economic and environmental accounting principles as consolidated in SEEA 2012, to test them in practical data gathering, to troubleshoot and refine approaches, and show added value of having such harmonized data available via case studies. b) To create environmentally Extended Supply and Use tables and update and expand the EXIOPOL database. Duration: April 2011 - April 2014 CREEA

Example WP4: Waste and material flows Harmonization of terminology and classification of waste and waste products with economic/environmental accounts, including MFA accounts; Compilation of standardized waste tables; Integration of waste and MFA accounts, including providing a data set for WP7; CREEA

Scope of waste calculation PSUTs & ESUTs for 43 countries + 4 RoW regions, 198 products x 161 industries, 18 waste fractions and 35 waste treatment activities. Novel integration of waste flows in accounts, Waste = balancing item Uses of PSUT data: Resource efficiency indicators; global, national, industry and product levels Analysis of Unused extraction and Recycling
