Wealthy merchants (traders) and religious leaders in Mecca were nervous about Muhammad because they thought he was trying to take their power.

They made Muhammad’s life difficult and beat his followers

Muhammad moved with his followers to Medina to avoid persecution (being bullied).

The people in Medina welcomed Muhammad, and believed that he was God’s messenger, or Prophet.

Muhammad created an Islamic state in Mecca Muhammad created an Islamic state in Mecca. An Islamic state is a government that rules according to Islamic law and traditions.
