A Little About Me Name: Dani Schmold Favorite Subjects to Teach: English, Social, Gym

Things I like

What About you?

What do you like to do in your free time? Any Allergies? Who’s the one celebrity you would love to meet and why? Where would you most like to travel and why? How do you learn best? Anything else important or interesting you feel I should know Answer these questions on a piece of paper with your name on it I will be collecting these

Top Three 1. Respect yourself This means you act in a manner that allows you to learn best This means you believe in your abilities! 2. Respect others This means you act in a manner that allows the people around you to learn best and feel welcome This applies to both students and adults 3.Respect your Environment Take pride in your workspace, your school, and your community Our Top Three need to be remembered at all times in all situations and in all places.

Procedures 1. I Dismiss you, not the bell. 1. Arrive to class on time and seat in a seat 2.Take a look at the Agenda on the board and take out any materials you will need. 3.During announcements put your pens down and listen before continuing 1. I Dismiss you, not the bell. 2.Sit quietly in your desk so I know your ready to go. The Start Bell The End Bell

Procedures Continued Missed a day? I need your attention When you are absent from school, the next day there will be a link on the homework website that u can access any handouts that you may have not gotten. Its your responsibility to get notes from another classmate if their is no handouts posted. This homework should be completed on your own time, not during class and should be handed into the language arts basket at the back of the class When I need your attention I’ll ask for it, this means you should immediately stop what your doing Make eye contact and stop talking and so I know your listening Remind your classmates if they have not caught on Missed a day? I need your attention

Classroom Website I have a website for both of the classes I teach. The URL is www.winstonla.weebly. ca To use this website go under the tab of your class. This website contains a schedule for your major assignments I will also be posting any handouts that I give out on the website under the calendar

During Discussions and Instructions I want everyone to actively participate, but there needs to be mutual respect in discussion Always follow the Top Three Raise your hand when you want to share One person talks at a time During this time everyone should be attentive; its not a time for sharpening pencils, talking or daydreaming Small non-smelly ,non-noisy snacks are ok during work time, but not discussion or instruction

Cell Phones The school policy is “no cell phones on the desk” You can listen to music while you work but no ear buds in while instruction is going on. Phones will be occasionally used for searching in class, however games, texting, snapchat etc. are for after class time.

Two Truths and a Tale I have been seen Disney 4 times I have 27 first cousins I have 3 dogs and a cat Which ones are true, which one is false?

Classmate Bingo 1. Introduce yourself to the person ("Hi I'm Bobby- Sue Smith") before you can ask a question, "Do you___? Have you__? Are you__?" 2. Ask the exact questions that are on the bingo card (you may only ask one question). 3. Write the person's names (spelled correctly) in the appropriate square. 4. Once you have talked to everyone you may start asking people you have already talked to. 5. Only the names of people you have talked to can be used. 6. Wait until people are finished talking—No interrupting. 7. Try to be the first one to get a blackout!

AWESOME Final Thoughts These procedures are in place to make this class successful. We are going to have a great experience. This is going to be AWESOME
