What are your impressions of Maycomb What are your impressions of Maycomb? How does Harper Lee introduce the town? What can be assumed about the town and the characters?

What happened with Walter Cunningham in Ch. 3 What happened with Walter Cunningham in Ch. 3? What does this situation reveal about Calpurnia, Scout, Walter, his family, and Atticus?

Why do the children play the Boo Radley game Why do the children play the Boo Radley game? How and why is Boo an urban legend? What do we know about Boo's character?

What kind of man is Atticus? What different roles does he play and why?

How does Scout narrate? What do you notice about her narrative voice, tone, and viewpoints in the novel?

Atticus says "you never really understand a person until you climb into his skin and walk around in it“ (30). What does this mean in the context of the novel? How does this lesson affect our characters? What does this mean in the context of life?
