Electron Dot Diagrams
Electron Dot Diagrams Electron Dot Diagrams are a short hand way to show the valence electrons in an atom. Valence electrons: are the number of electrons in the outermost energy level of the atom.
To Draw Electron Dot Diagrams: Determine the number of valence electrons in the atom by drawing a Bohr model. Write the element’s symbol. Draw dots around the diagram (like around the four sides of a box). Start on the right. Draw counter-clockwise. Draw one electron on each side before pairing the electrons.
