The visual examples may or may not be the actual MindTap Product you are using in your course, but the process is the same. What you will need to register…… The URL for your campus Learning Management System. Method of Payment for Access MindLinks Access Code Credit/Debit Card or PayPal Account To access your Cengage Learning content, you will need the URL for your campus Learning Management System and a method of payment for access. If you purchased a textbook bundle from the bookstore, it likely included your access code. If you prefer to access your course content online (which includes an etext) you can simply pay online with a credit / debit card or PayPal account.

Login to your Campus Learning Management System http://your_campus_LMS Log in to your campus Learning Management System. In most cases you will know this as Desire2Learn, but many campus brand their LMS specific to their institution. Instructors ** Please enter the campus LMS URL/Access point here. You may also want to add a screen shot of the login page for your campus.

Click on the Link to Your Course ** Instructors – adding a screen shot that is from your campus LMS will improve the student user experience.

Access Cengage Learning Resources Your course will include a combination of links to content provided by your instructor and Cengage Learning. You will need your access code (or have the ability to purchase access) the first time you click on one of the links with Cengage content. ** Instructors – adding a screen shot that is from your campus LMS will improve the student user experience.

Payment Options …. Payment Options: Pay online with a credit/ debit card or PayPal account. Redeem an Access Code Pay later by utilizing the payment grace period You will be presented with three payment options: Pay online with a credit/debit card or PayPal Account Redeem an access code which may have been included in a textbook bundle you purchased from the bookstore. You can also utilize the payment grace period and choose to pay later. The grace period will be clearly identified on the course payment page.

You code is a 14 digit alpha-numeric code that is printed on the card that came in your textbook bundle. You may have also purchased this on a website created specifically for your course.

Pay Later Using Course Grace Period Option 3: Pay Later Using Course Grace Period The course grace period is defined by the class start date. Students choosing this option can complete all work and access all resources. Once the grace period expires, students will not be able to access materials without entering an access code or paying online. All work will be saved and accessible once payment is received.

Access a Learning Path with Activities Designed for your Course MindTap includes a variety of learning materials presented in a learning path that was customized by your instructor. Your instructor may also provide linksto specific activities from your Learning Management System.

Access eText, Highlight, Take Notes and More …. MindTap also includes a digital version of your textbook. You will have access to a variety of tools to help you study. You can take notes, highlight, access key terms and more.

Dedicated Technical Support for MindTap in Desire2Learn Begin by Submitting a Support Case via the Cengage Technical Support Link in your Learning Management System ** If you do not see a Technical Support Link, please contact your instructor ** If you require assistance with any of the Cengage Learning content in your course, you will want to start a support case by clicking on the Cengage Technical Support Link in your course. If you do not see a Cengage Technical Support Link – please contact your instructor. ** Instructors – If you require assistance with adding the Cengage Technical Support Link, please contact your Cengage Representative

Submitting a MindLinks Support Case Clicking on the link from within your LMS will take you directly to the create a case form for MindLinks which will alert our technical support team that you are accessing content from your Learning Management System as well as important information like your browser and version, etc. which can help to expedite the support process.

Track the status of your case through Desire2Learn A Case Number will be assigned. You can return to the link in your course and then click Home to access details of your support request at any time. If you click on the case ID, you will also have access to our 24x7 chat. Please provide your Case ID to the support agent if you initiate a session.

Case ID is Assigned and sent via email You will also receive a follow up email with the case ID and a link to view the status of your case.

Additional Support for MindTap in Desire2Learn Once you have a case ID you can then use our email, chat or phone options. Please have your Case ID available to expedite your service request. Phone support is available during the following times: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 9:00 pm EST Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm EST Once you have a case ID, you can then use our email, chat or phone options if it is required that you speak with someone in person. You will receive the phone number and contact info once the case ID has been created. ALWAYS provide your Case ID when contacting support.
