Changes to the Primary Class Size Website: Early Learning Program OASBO Finance Workshop March 4, 2010

Early Learning Program The introduction of the Early Learning Program (ELP) has caused changes in the way the Primary Class Size statistics are calculated: ELP classes will not be counted towards any of the Primary Class Size calculations and targets, including the board-wide elementary class size average Non-ELP JK/SK classes will continue to be subject to the targets and will be included in the calculation and reporting of class sizes at the primary and elementary levels

Primary Class Size Targets The PCS targets remain unchanged. In 2010-11, school boards should organize elementary classes so that on a board-wide basis:

PCS Website https:\\pcs.edu.gov.on.ca Early Learning Program (ELP) classes will be identified by a new Class Type called “ELP” Boards who send the Ministry their data in the form of a bulk upload must identify their ELP classes as Track #4

ELP Statistics A new section on the Board Statistics page will display the ELP statistics, namely: Percent of classes under 26, equal to 26 and above 26 The number of ELP classes, enrolment, average class size and number of schools offering the program

ELP Statistics
