UNITED SERVICES MILITARY APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (USMAPS)
What is it? A recognized program by US Department of Labor (DOL) that allows active duty service members in the United States Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Navy to complete different civilian apprenticeship elements while doing there job. A definite advantage in getting better civilian jobs since employers know the value of apprenticeships.
Requirements Minimum of one year left on current enlistment High school diploma or GED Assigned to and performing duties in a designated rating/military occupational specialty Must have completed the required formal classroom instruction (training) for the trade. Selected trade must be your current primary job at your current assigned command, NOT a collateral duty or temporary duty assignment
