Presentation transcript:

Lesson 5.1 How do you write fractions as decimals? Divide the denominator into the numerator. How do you write decimals as fractions? The place value of the last digit of the decimal gives you the denominator. Write the number over the denominator.

Lesson 5.2 – 5.3 How do you add and subtract fractions? Find your common denominator. If there’s a mixed number, you can turn it into an improper fraction first. Add/subtract the numerators, keeping your denominator the same. Reduce your final answer.

Lesson 5.4 – 5.5 How do you multiply and divide fractions? To multiply fractions, multiply the numerators, multiply the denominators. Reduce your answer. To divide fractions, multiply by the reciprocal of the second fraction. Reduce your answer.

Lesson 5.6 How do you solve equations using a multiplicative inverse? Multiply each side of the equation by the reciprocal of the coefficient.

Lesson 5.7 How do you solve equations with rational numbers? Use inverse operations to isolate the variable. If you have fractions or decimals in the equation/inequality, you have an option to remove the fractions or decimals first.
