What happened on the road to war?

What happened on the road to war? Lesson Aim: To be able to give examples with evidence of Hitler’s actions. N.B. Remember test on League on Monday! Also, this is the last bit of content for paper I (yr.10), so we have ages to revise  before your mocks! So, may be worth buying those textbooks/revision guides. TASK: Mini whiteboards: Draw a reason why either appeasement was a good/poor approach to foreign policy.

Hitler’s foreign policy aims What were Hitler’s actions? To destroy the Treaty of Versailles, by re-arming Germany and recovering lands lost in the Treaty. Aim ~2: To bring all German-speaking people everywhere under German control. In particular, this means reuniting with Austria. Aim ~3: To expand East in order to gain Lebensraum (‘living space’) for the German people. This means Poland and the USSR (Russia). Aim ~4: To destroy the communist USSR (Russia). Make a note of these aims. What were Hitler’s actions? http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/clips/zc22tfr

TASK: We are going to make a class comic book showing the road to WWII TASK: We are going to make a class comic book showing the road to WWII. You will do one event each and then the best ones I will make into a booklet. It will be both glorious and a great revision tool! First of all…..what makes a great comic? – see the examples below:

Now we have great ideas, we need to know what content you need…….. In pairs, for your topic write down some key points. Focus on dates/facts/figures – these are vital! Then, you can ask me any questions you have before you make a start. Make fact sheets using the textbook.

TASK: We are going to make a class comic book showing the road to WWII TASK: We are going to make a class comic book showing the road to WWII. You will do one event each and then the best ones I will make into a booklet. One page of A4 – how’s its laid out is up to you. Must be factual/informative e.g. Germany increased its navy to 35% of the British Navy in 1935 as it rearmed. Time: Rest of this lesson and Monday’s lesson (you may wish to bring colours etc. next time). Therefore, I am expecting them to be breath-taking!
