From 2006 of April (1) to the end of (2011-2012), the YESB stands on its own revenue. In 2012-2013 budget year, YESB has been reinstated as state owned utility and budget has been allocated by State Government Yearly budget allocated for capital investment are: 2007-2008 - 10.664 Billion Kyats 2008-2009 - 12.597 Billion Kyats 2009-2010 - 12.824 Billion Kyats 2010-2011 - 16.549 Billion Kyats 2011-2012 - 18.730 Billion Kyats 2012-2013 - 18.483 Billion Kyats 2013-2014 - 33.071 Billion Kyats (Including Loan & Grant 16.602 Billion Kyats)

Goal & Opportunities of YESB To encourage the private sector participation in Electric Power Sector and Support the development of country economy YESB tends to corporatization 51 % of Government Assets and 49 % of private investment shared respectively to increase the capital to be able to spend for distribution system Improvement. ( Public Private Partnership) Government Assets shall be consisted of existing Land, Building, Vehicles, Office facilities, Substations, Distribution Lines. The percentage ratio of share of government and private sector shall be changed in future towards privatization according to the progress .
