Calculus Why take AP Calculus? Which Calculus to take? Consider your interests/goals Which Calculus to take? AB vs BC Honors What does it take to be successful? Algebra 2 & Precalcus success Hard work/independent practice Calculus is NOT mandatory for college Admission; AB covers about 2/3 of the BC curriculum; Honors is similar to AB

Routes to Calculus Take the math you are ready for

AP Statistics Divergent from the math sequence Routes to Success Greater focus on reasoning, logic and communication Significantly more critical reading and writing Routes to Success Take the readiness indicator Dedicate about 30 mins a night for HW Applicable to many fields of Study Precalc with Coding is rigorous both mathematically and with regards to coding.

AP Computer Science Courses Why take an AP Computer Science Course? Consider your interests/goals Which Coding Course to take? CS Principles covers infrastructure and coding (mostly python) Precalcus with Coding is two courses in one. (CS Principles + Advanced Precalc) Both Courses have a Roadmap to Computing prerequisite Both courses take the AP CSP test Precalc with Coding is rigorous both mathematically and with regards to coding.

To Consider… Rigor Self-Assessment Grade Tolerance College Board Approved Self-Assessment Interests, commitments (Other APs?) Calculus vs Coding vs Statistics Ability to think Critically Grade Tolerance An AP course is a college level course taught in a high school setting, designed to prepare students to take (AP) examinations.
