MS4SSA nodes conference MS4SSA Rwanda Node: Implementation MS4SSA nodes conference The presentation gives a brief description of the initiative to improve the teaching and learning of Maths and Science in Sub-Saharan Africa (MS4SSA). We believe that In Rwanda, the project will contribute to support the implementation of the new curriculum (Competence-Based Curriculum) in place in our schools. The WB launched this initiative in May, this year when the proposal for the public institutions has passed. The implementation is requiring joint-effort from all institutions engaged in training teacher both in-service and pre-service teachers. These are REB, URCE and AIMS. MINEDUC is coordinating the activities. May 29-30, 2018

Country’s implementation plan 2 Pilot proposed in 30 schools. One school in each district. 6excellent (20%), 12 (40%) Intermediate (40%), 12 (40%) 12YBE. Selected schools have a room with 100 laptops, projector, Internet, Starting in April 2018 and initially focusing on S1 (Grade 7) in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology). Pilot to last for 2 years (up to end of 2019 including reporting) 11/22/2018
