Taken

Genre The genre of this film is an action thriller

Stock character There is a bad guy in the film his name is Paul he takes young travelling girls about 18-20 years old and he is a stereo type of a good guy because he seems helpful at first and is quite good looking but really he is a bad guy.

Narrative In the start of the film everything is okay until about half an hour when they arrive in Paris then Bryan’s daughter and friend gets kidnapped by 4 kidnappers that break into her flat. Bryan gets the next flight to Paris to try and save his daughter and her friend, he arrives in Paris and goes outside the airport to find Peter that helped kidnap his daughter and her friend. He chases Peter and he jumps off a bridge, survives it and then gets run over by a lorry. He gets to the hangout house where all the kidnappers stay, Bryan goes in and kills all the people in there and tries to find his daughter but she is going on a boat to get sold, he finds the boat and sneaks on it and gets his daughter and goes back to America.

Audience involvement This film gets the audience at the edge of their seats in most of the film because there’s always killing and fighting.

Camera term and definitions In the scene where Bryan goes to a construction site where the kidnappers and the young women are, the camera is up close most of the time because it’s fighting and shooting and some fast and dangerous driving.
