ESOL Levels Level 2 - same level as high GCSE Level 1 - same level as low GCSE Entry 3 - confident at basic level Entry 2 - basic Entry 1 - very basic Pre-entry - complete beginners

What can I achieve? All courses except pre-entry, lead to external accreditation, currently through City and Guilds exam board. Certificates are awarded for successful completion of each assessment in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

How will I achieve it? Come to class regularly and on time Take part enthusiastically in class activities Speak only English in the classroom Be an active learner Watch English TV- switch off that satellite dish! Use English as much as you can!

ESOL classes are not enough... A two hour ESOL class is only a start – to make the most of your learning, make sure you look over the topic covered at home and take every opportunity to practise what you have been learning!
