Let’s look at our pretend junior, Ima Fake. Ima has a 3 Let’s look at our pretend junior, Ima Fake. Ima has a 3.34 GPA and 1080 SAT (math and critical reading) Ima has entered some colleges she is considering: La Salle, Manhattan, Pitt, SJU and Temple. Using the compare me feature, she can see how her GPA and standardized test scores compare to accepted averages of past MMA students who applied to these schools. You can see that Pitt SJU and Temple are Red) and LaSalle and Manhattan -Green) which indicates that Ima is below the accepted average for MMA students at Pitt, SJU and Temple and above the average for LaSalle and Manhattan. This does not mean she will not be accepted at the “red” schools, nor does it mean that she will definitely be accepted at the “green schools”. It gives a rough idea o where Ima stands in comparison to past MMA applicants. Let’s look further in this using the “College Lookup ” feature for Temple The green numbers indicate that Ima is above the accepted average for MMA students, while the red numbers indicate that she falls below the average. The green or red do not guarantee that you will be accepted or denied. They give a rough idea of where your daughter stands in comparison to past MMA applicants.
The red circle shows where the student fits in graph Graph (aka scattergram) – Shows average SAT and GPA and how MMA Students in the past 3 years have fared. Let’s look at this for Temple. Ima fits into this graph where the red circle is. You can see that while she is below the accepted average, there are many MMA students with a similar profile to her that have been accepted at Temple. I’ve tried to highlight some of the most important and useful features tonight, but there are many more for you to explore. Be sure to look at the handout you received for explanations of the many other features available to aid you in the college search process.
