Everyone has what it takes to be a brain builder!

On the Move with Vroom! Learning Outcomes Parents and providers will be able to: Understand the research behind Vroom. Learn ways to incorporate Vroom into their daily routines. Recognize how this tool benefits their children’s brain development. (You can take out this slide if you don’t need it.)

What is Vroom? New science tells us that our children’s first years (birth through five) are when they develop the foundation for all future learning. Vroom is taking shared moments and everyday routines and turning them into brain building moments. There are always ways to nurture our children's growing minds, whether it is:  Mealtime Bath time Or anytime in between Vroom supports children’s learning during everyday routines, at home, on the go, any time of the day.

What is Vroom? This video shows what it takes to be a brainbuider for children.

The Team Behind Vroom! Vroom was developed by a group of dedicated scientists, community leaders and trusted brands, with input from community organizations and families like yours. Together, they're providing parents and caregivers with ways to boost early learning. They’ve dedicated their lives to understanding early learning—and their work informs everything we do. Science is at the heart of Vroom. Ellen Galinsky and others from Mind in the Making Institute designed many of the tips and reviews tips sent in by providers, parents and the public. Click on the link to show a video in which Ellen Galinsky talks about the Amazing Baby and how babies learn. The video’s length is 5:15 minutes.

Brain Building Basics Vroom is about creating brain building moments. The good news is, the time you have is all you need to be a brain builder. Following these 5 tips, you can turn interactions with children into brain building moments. (Empasize the importance of each step in brain building.)

The Brain Story Shaping the foundation for future learning: A Brand New Brain Ready for Anything Learning Like Lightning Communication is Key Hi, Baby You Are a Brain Builder Nurture Future Greatness Vroom! It Begins With You The human brain is amazing. Babies are born with the capacity for learning. The frequency and type of interactions babies experience with adults shape the development of their brains. (Emphasize each point on the Brain Story flyer.)

Tip Card Examples Here are five examples of tip cards. These are examples of the tips on the Vroom app. (Go over the information on each tip card and emphasize the importance of the Brainy Background.) Using the tips with children will support their brain development. Each interaction will help the neurons in the brain to make more connections as shown in the last box.

Ways to Get on the Move with Vroom Visit the Vroom Website http://www.joinvroom.com Vroom Activities Tip Cards Your Vroom Activities Vroom App Vroom Tools Visit the Vroom Dropbox https://dl.orangedox.com/UPnK1F Click on the links to show examples of the tips and tools. When you click on the Vroom Activities Tip Cards you can show videos of parents using the tips with their children. Each video is about 1.5 minutes in length.

Activity Time Try out some of the tip card activities. Then see if you can write your own tip card. You can use this activity in smaller groups by giving out some tips cards to each group and have the participants try out the tips. Give out blank index cards and encourage each person to write a tip for a child that is the age of their child or the age group they teach. In a large group, have participants talk to the person beside them about how they could use the tips and what kinds of activities would make good tips to share with others.
