THE STORY OF THE CANDY CANE By Becky Kew – available online at www.gospelhall.org

EACH OF THE STRIPES AND THE COLORS HAVE MEANING!

is in the shape of a shepherd’s The Candy Cane is in the shape of a shepherd’s staff. Jesus is the shepherd who gave himself for the sheep. Who are the sheep?

Sheep get lost from the shepherd and often times get into trouble.

So do we. Rom. 3:23

j Turned over the candy cane is like a “J” for: JESUS!

The Candy Cane is “hard candy.” It is made of hard candy to remind us that Jesus is the ROCK that we are to build our lives on.

HOW?

He is strong and His word cannot be broken He is strong and His word cannot be broken. He will and does keep his word. He cannot lie.

The wide red stripes represent the blood that Jesus shed on the cross.

The white stripes on the candy can represent his sinless life The white stripes on the candy can represent his sinless life. He was pure and Holy. 1 Pet. 2:22

The narrow red stripes remind us about the stripes, or scars which he got when he was whipped and beaten. Isa. 53:5

When we break the candy cane it is a reminder that Jesus’ body was broken for us.

Candy canes are meant to be shared!

God shared his love with us!

Have a Merry Christmas! and remember…..

THE LORD JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!
