French 3R Madame Rakhit

Main Objective: Communication

Course Description Most class activities and interactions are conducted in French. Personalization of subject matter is crucial as instructional themes are designed to: prepare students to move beyond memorized scripts and use the language to initiate, maintain, and end meaningful conversations; express opinions, preferences, and requests flexibly and creatively; and handle many everyday exchanges.

Learning Objectives Students will learn to use the target language specifically to: make vacation/travel plans, book a hotel stay, describe past events, purchase and identify food items at a market and interact in dining settings, converse about health and fitness, identify everyday technologies, identify parts of a car, engage in activities around town, sightsee, and run errands.  Interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills are consistently addressed.

Activities Tests (writing, listening and speaking) Assessments Short role-plays/skits Journal Writing Reading Stories (news and magazine) Grammar Role-Plays with props/costumes (Major Assessment) PowerPoint Presentations (Major & Minor Assessments) Tests (writing, listening and speaking) Schoolwires/Google Classroom
