State Veteran Benefits Purpose: To ensure Transitioning Service Members (TSMs) are aware of the additional Veterans benefits that may be available to them in their state of residence.
Many states offer the following benefits to veterans: Educational grants and scholarships Special exemptions or discounts on fees and taxes Home loans Veteran’s homes Free hunting and fishing privileges and more.

TWO YEAR COMMISSARY AND POST EXCHANGE PRIVILEGES Purpose: To ensure that TSMs who are involuntary separated, are aware of their commissary and exchange benefits after separation.
Prescribed by Secretary of Defense for: Honorable involuntary separatees with an SPD code that conveys TAP benefits from Oct 1, 2007 to December 31, 2018. Members who receive a sole survivorship discharge. Benefits will begin on the later of the following dates. Date of separation and date on which member is first notified of entitlement of benefit.
Oh by the way… Benefits may be lost if qualifying members elect to live in a foreign country due to Treaty , Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), or military base agreements between the U.S and host country.
