A quick review for those who are new to the school How to Request a Book A quick review for those who are new to the school Or for those of you who did not listen the other three times the process was explained.
Step 1 – determining availability First of all, you can do this from the IPAC terminals in the LMC OR at any computer! Know the title of the book you are going to request. Does it show that there are books available?

My results… I want to read this narrative nonfiction book, Death of a Dreamer. I click on the title.
Results… Now, click on Copies
Results… I see that there is a book available at Madison Middle School, but it was not on the shelf. I am going to request a copy from one of the high schools.
Step 2 – Submitting a Hold Go back to the Library Search page Click on Log In and enter your information
Results… Click on Catalog
Results… Type in the title of the book you want.
Results… Click on title of book – again!
Results… No click on Hold It!
Results… Typically, As Soon as Possible works. NOT THIS TIME because we need the books for a longer period of time. Click this to get Reserve for a Specific Date
YOUR ENDING DATE FOR THIS IS MAY 22, 2015!!! Results… Your dates will be different from mine because of when you logged on. Click on first available date for From. Hopefully it will be here sooner. You are allowing for delivery time. To date: YOUR ENDING DATE FOR THIS IS MAY 22, 2015!!!
Results… Now click on Save
Results… You should see this note that indicates your Hold was successful. The title of the book: Death of a Dreamer, and the hold placement dates. The LMC will notify your resource teacher when the book comes in.
