Urie Brofenbrenner -Human Ecology Theory -The Ecological Systems Theory

Life span/ education Born: April 29, 1917 in Moscow, Russian Republic Died: September 25, 2005 (88) in Ithaca, New York (US) Alma Mater: Cornell University, Harvard University, and University of Michigan.

What is he best known for? His theory has influenced a multitude of psychologists through the manner of analysing the person and the effect of the different environmental systems. (Social/Emotional Intellectual development)

Theory explained Human ecology- the ecological systems theory Human development is influenced by the different types of environmental systems This theory helps us understand why we may behave differently when we compare our behavior around our family and at work or in school

5 environmental systems 1.) Microsystem 2.) Mesosystem 3.) Exosystem 4.) Macrosystem 5.) Chronosystem

Agree or disagree? Agree. The environment a child grows up in plays a pivotal role in forming their personality and the way they interact socially

Theory in Daily Life Rebekah- My grandmother drew a lot when I was growing up so I grew up drawing. Sara- Both of my parents are republicans so I grew up knowing that to be correct. Abby- My step-dad is a huge basketball fan and coaches so I grew up playing and still do.
