Strategic Career Development Planning Present by Martin Jung  Structural Test Engineer, BAEX, Core Eng., Bombardier Aerospace, Montreal Author of ebook about mentoring about being hired at Canada/US Title”내가 만든 비행기 세계의 하늘을 날다”

1. Draw your own happiness graph

2. Setup your goal To meet your happiness goal, what is your goal ? (Academia or Industry) What is your Action Plan to meet your goal ? (focus on your goal) If you choose an industry, what you have to know ? a) vision b) capacity c) fit your needs

3. Breakdown action plans Establish action plans for a) 10 year b) 5 year c) 3 year d) 1 year Update your action plans as much as possible (may include a backup plan and alternative path) Your action plan should have details as much as you can (Date, Measurement, Next Action and ETC)

4. Your Action Plan can cover the following questions ? What was your best accomplishment in your school life? What was your best control of a difficult situation in your school life. What was your biggest failure in your school life? What was your experience about leadership in your school life? What was your best problem-solving situation in your school life? If your answers for the above questions are only one or two categories, REVIEW your action plans.

5. An example of QA for interview from your school life What was your best problem-solving situation in your school life? Wrong Answer ex) I was a good problem solver at school. Good Answer ex) I was working as a vice president at school club activity. When I was there, the rate of the membership fee was 50% so that I made it paid by Internet and the rate was up to 80%.

6. Career Development (I) What track do you prefer ? Manager (Supervisor) Track Technical + Communicate Team(s) No working hour-> Good or Bad Good communication skill for different characteristic team members Non-Manager Track Engineer, advisor and etc

7. Career Development (II) [A Case of Engineer] Manager (Supervisor) Track (Senior) Engineer Section Chief (Senior) Manager Director Non-Manager Track Junior Engineer Senior Engineer Principle Engineer

8. A specialist vs. A multiplayer -. Do not need to choose one of them Because a company needs both. -. If you have a change to choose, do not worry about your career Rather, you may focus on the happiness your decision will bring to you.

9. Future Planing -. Never easy & You cannot expect what will be happening because you are not God. -. But, if you have no plan, you may have no gain. -. You can make it detail and update as much as you can. -. Useful tools; Mind-map (on paper or software) Scheduler (on planner or software) ETC (book, find mentor and so on)

9. Time mangement skills; Introduction of GTD -. GTD : Get Things Done -. Reference : “Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity cover” by David Allen -. Instead of classifying the jobs first, DO IT now if you can. -. If you cannot do it now, the job will classify by location and time. -. There are many mobile and PC software about GTD.

10. Further REFERENCE -. Author’s Blog (http://powersft.tistory.com/) -. Author’s facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/working4oversee)
