What to Bring Health Insurance card Signed Offer of Participation form Prescription medication in original packaging along with a valid copy of the prescription (including Epipen or Twinjet, asthma pump) Refer to the list provided by the CTC information booklet / joining instructions posted on the website under: Summer Training > Summer Training Updates Health Card must still be valid while on course Signed offer will be given to cadets by staff on site

Packing Tips Try not to over pack: Only bring necessities and what is mentioned on the list Pillows, blankets, etc. are provided by the Training Centre Use plastic bags to line your bag in case of water getting into them Pack a carry-on backpack for bus/plane/train Bring a bag that you are able to carry on your own: 2-3 week courses: duffel bag or large backpack 6 week courses: duffel bag or suitcase

Departure to Training Centre 1-2 days before: Cadets will get a phone call from the Summer Training Officer Cadets arrive in uniform pants, belt, boots, shirt, name tag no tunic, no tie (unless specified by their CTC) Check in with 75 staff member on site Will be posted on the Squadron Calendar/Website Cadets need their completed Offer of Participation to board the bus/plane/train 75 staff member will it give back to them when checking in

Who to Contact In case of emergency: parents/guardians can contact the staff at the CTCs at any time The contact information is provided in the Summer Training Centre information booklets on the 75 website under Summer Training > Summer Training Updates Dietary Restrictions: parents are to contact the CTCs directly The Movement Coordination Centre (MCC) coordinates all cadet movement to and from CTCs MCC operates night and day, from June 19th-August 22nd Toll-free number: 1-800-810-2347 CI Longchamps: for inquiries and non-urgent matters summertraining@75aircadets.ca

What to Expect Locations: Adult staff: Staff Cadets: All Cadet Training Centres are located within Canadian Forces Facilities Adult staff: Qualified personnel – specifically trained to work with cadets 12-18 years old Ensures that cadets are in a safe and positive environment Oversee the performance and conduct of the Staff Cadets Staff Cadets: cadets 16 years or older who will be the immediate leaders of cadets on all levels of camps Summer Training versus “summer camp”: There are rules and expectations This is an opportunity for additional training It is a learning experience!

What to Expect (Continued) Day-to-day: 3 Meal periods Full days of scheduled activities and classes Team building exercises and sports Facilities: Laundry Canteen Medical Clinic Expectations: Clean quarters – bed made to standard Appropriate hair, clean/ironed uniform, shiny boots Positive attitude!

Departure from Training Centre Arrangements are made for all cadets to return home - the dates/times will be posted on the Squadron Calendar and can be found on the Travel Itineraries 75 Staff will be present, make sure to check out with them prior to leaving Alternatively, Cadets will be allowed to leave with their parents / guardians after the Graduation Parade. This must be arranged with the CTC or MCC directly The dates of the grad parades are all listed in the information/joining instruction booklets posted on the website (under Summer Training > Summer Training Updates)

FAQs Not Feeling Well? Homesick? Mail? Leave? Cadets can be escorted to the clinic to be assessed by DND medical staff (Doctors and Nurses) If required, the cadet will be transported to a civilian hospital Not unusual for cadets to pull muscles, have a sore throat, get a sunburn Homesick? Most cadets get homesick at some point Parents be strong – it’s new for your cadet, and they have the support to keep them going Mail? Addresses and procedures for sending mail to cadets can be found in the CSTC guides Leave? Not available for 2 week courses Each CSTC has its own process – refer to the CSTC guide for more information.
