The Scottish Volleyball Association Scorers Training Course Based on FIVB 2017 – 2020 rules

After the CoinToss Team ABC put X onto because this team is receiving R A Team XYZ put X onto because this team is serving S B X Y Z A B C x x To avoid mistakes and speed things up, fill in the details for set 2 and 3 at this point (and as soon as each team has won a set, complete set 4).

After the Coin Toss 1. ü the number 1 in the square of the player position I of the serving team marking the 1st player to serve. 2. Put an X into the box of the player position I of the receiving team marking that this player will not serve in this rotation. 3. Before Each Player Serves Check that it is the correct server If it isn’t wait until the service has taken place then use the sound device (whistle, buzzer, horn etc) to alert the 2nd Referee say “that is the wrong server” and be prepared to prove it.

During the Match Inform the second referee when: Either team requests the second time out Either team requests the fifth or sixth substitution

During the Match 1. Cross the gained points won in the column POINTS 2. When the serving team loses the service, write the point, which the team had in the moment of side out into the row SERVICE ROUND below the server. 3. To Clarify If the serving team wins the rally, cross off the next point If the receiving team wins the rally there are 3 actions to take: Update the Service Rounds box of the team that lost the rally with their current score (known as closing the box) Award a point to the team that won the rally Place a ü onto the small number of the Service rounds box for the next server (known as opening the box)

Substitution process When a substitute player enters the substitution zone, carrying the numbered paddle of the player(s) they are to replace: Press the buzzer/horn/blow whistle Check substitution is legal If the request for substitution is illegal: press the buzzer again - be prepared to record a sanction When you complete score sheet, raise both hands to show the second referee you are ready to resume the match

Substitution process EXAMPLE 1 : Record the number of the substitute player into the box below the number of the player leaving the court and the scores of both teams at the moment of the substitution (First digit is the number of score of requesting team). Substitution process EXAMPLE 2 : When the starting player returns to the court, record the scores of both teams up to the moment of the substitution into the box below the preceding box and circle the number of the player leaving the court (to show they can’t legally return to court this set). EXAMPLE 2 : ABC Player No.5 returns onto the court, at score 14:8 to XYZ. The End of the Set Write the exact time at the end of the set into the END time box. End of the Set Transfer all data to the RESULTS box (at the end of the set): T: Time out of each set A B C X Y Z S: Substitution by teams in each sets - to include exceptional substitutions 2 2 1 25 17 16 5 1 2 W: Set won or lost P: Points won in each set Duration: Time of each set in minutes Note: If it didn’t happen insert ‘0’ The scorer times the time between the sets (3 minutes) and notifies the 2nd Referee after 2 minutes 30 seconds
