What is a Service Dog? According to the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), a “service animal is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.” The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability.

What is a Therapy Dog? Dogs who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. From working with a child who is learning to read to visiting a senior in assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners work together as a team to improve the lives of other people.

What you SHOULD do… Compliment the owner on the dog Inform your team there is a Service Dog present Tell the owner you welcome Service Dogs Talk to the person
