Hancock Natural Resource Group – Prophix story Operating since: 1985 Head office: Boston, Massachusetts Annual revenue: > $1 billion Number of employees: > 500 G/L or ERP: Microsoft Dynamics GP Website: http://enet-vip.jhancock.com/hnrg/ Company background: Hancock Natural Resource Group (HNRG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial, is an alternative investment management group with specialties in agriculture (HAIG) and timber (HTRG). HTRG is the world’s largest timberland investment manager for institutions investors. Business problems that lead to evaluating CPM, adopting Prophix: The HTRG operations, known as Hancock Forestry Management (HFM), in Tauranga, New Zealand will be the focus of Phase 1 of the implementation (35+ users). Subsequent phases will see Prophix being rolled out in their Boston, MA HQ (Phase 2, with 20+ more users) as well as 2 other sites in the US, Canada and Brazil (which will involve 75+ more users). Ultimately the HAIG operations will deploy Prophix as well with additional operations in the US (corn, soybeans, almonds, wine grapes, cotton, rice) as well as Canada and Australia (macadamia nuts, wine grapes.)

Supporting data: Competitors: We beat out Hyperion (Manulife runs Oracle) and Cognos (John Hancock runs IBM). Industry-specific key business drivers evaluated: Manage their operational planning: plan their harvesting, shipping internationally via ships, rail, etc. Very international. Touching operations on several continents. Reporting on returns back to investors. Somewhat akin to the Smith Gardens solution. Future plans: (Please attach further relevant materials)
