Favorite Pizza Toppings and Ice Cream Flavors Which is the favorite pizza/ice cream combination given the following choices? Pizza Toppings: Cheese, Pepperoni, Supreme Ice Cream: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry The title page should tell what your two categories are and what the choices are for each category.

Make up at least 30 responses Person Pizza Ice Cream 1 P V 2 C S 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Person Pizza Ice Cream 11 C 12 P 13 S 14 15 16 17 18 19 V 20 Person Pizza Ice Cream 21 S C 22 V 23 24 P 25 26 27 28 29 30 Since there aren’t 30 people in the class, you should make up fictional people and the responses they give. Pizza: C=Cheese, P=Pepperoni, S=Supreme Ice Cream: V=Vanilla, C=Chocolate, S=Strawberry

Use the responses to create a frequency table Cheese Pepperoni Supreme Total Vanilla 4 1 9 Chocolate 3 6 7 16 Strawberry 2 5 12 30 Compile the results from your response chart in a frequency table.

Calculate the marginal percents % who like each pizza topping % who like each ice cream flavor Total number of people: 30 Cheese: 9 people 9/30= 0.3  30% Pepperoni: 12 people 12/30= 0.4  40% Supreme: 9 people Total number of people: 30 Vanilla: 9 people 9/30= 0.3  30% Chocolate: 16 people 16/30= 0.533  53% Strawberry: 5 people 5/30= 0.167  17% Use the frequency table to find the percent of people surveyed who have each category.

Calculate the Joint Relative Frequencies Again, there were 30 people surveyed Cheese & Vanilla 4/30= 0.133 13% Pepperoni & Vanilla Supreme & Vanilla 1/30= 0.033 3% Cheese & Chocolate 3/30= 0.1 10% Pepperoni & Chocolate 6/30= 0.2 20% Supreme & Chocolate 7/30= 0.233 23% Cheese & Strawberry 2/30= 0.067 7% Pepperoni & Strawberry Supreme & Strawberry Find the percent of people surveyed who have each different combination of attributes.

Make a frequency table relative to favorite type of ice cream Cheese Pepperoni Supreme Vanilla 4/9 = .44 4/12 = .33 1/9 = .11 Chocolate 3/9 = .33 6/12 = .5 7/9 = . 78 Strawberry 2/9 = .22 2/12 = .17 Total 9/9 = 1.0 12/12 = 1.0 Find the frequency relative to each column. Remember across the bottom, the totals should each add up to one.

Make a frequency table relative to favorite pizza topping Cheese Pepperoni Supreme Total Vanilla 4/9 = .44 1/9 = .11 9/9 = 1 .0 Chocolate 3/16 = .19 6/16 = .38 7/16 = .44 16/16 = 1.0 Strawberry 2/5 = .4 1/5 = .2 5/5 = 1.0 Find the frequency relative to each row. Remember down the right side, the totals should each add up to one.

Create (at least) 5 Questions What percentage of people surveyed liked chocolate ice cream best? How many people have the favorite combination of supreme pizza and chocolate ice cream? What percentage of people who like cheese pizza best prefer strawberry ice cream? What is the favorite choice of pizza topping? What is the least favorite flavor of ice cream? You should be able to find the answer to each question by looking at one of the tables you have created.
