INNReach Training: SearchOhio and OhioLink Hello and welcome to INNReach Training for SearchOhio and OhioLink. This video will show you how to cancel the INNReach items that your patrons did not pick up. Cancelling INNReach Holds

It is up to each library how often they cancel holds It is up to each library how often they cancel holds. To cancel INNReach Holds, click on the function menu and choose ‘Clear Expired Holds and Holdshelf’.

Click the INNReach Holdshelf button…

Select your location or branch from the drop down list and click display.

Once the list is populated you’ll want to print it out.

The order that items appear on this page is how they will print The order that items appear on this page is how they will print. We recommend putting the list in order by the patron’s name as that is how they are usually found on the shelf. Click on the Top of the ‘Patron’ column to put it in order.

Next, we recommended that you send the list to your email for an easier to read printout. To send it to your email, Click ‘File’ in the upper left-hand corner.

1. Choose select printer and choose Standard Printer.

1. 2. Next, choose ‘Print to email’.

1. 2. 3. Enter in your, (or the most convenient and accessible) email and click OK.

1. 2. 3. Finally, click the print icon on the top right of the page. There may not be a prompt to tell you that it was sent. Leave this page up while you go and check your email. 4.

If you don’t see the email in your Inbox, check your Spam or Trash folder and move it back to your Inbox. Each item/patron should be listed as shown. Print this list and it take it with to the shelves to pull your holds.

If the item is there… 1. 2. All items that you cancel have to be checked in under ‘INNReach Return Unwanted Item’ before you send them back to the owning library. This action will change the status from Rec’d to Ret’d. Make sure to scan the item with a ‘b’ in front and then choose ‘Print Transit Slip’ from the popup box.

If the item isn’t there… Decide if you want to contact the patron to see if they have the item. Wait until the next cancel hold and look again. After 3 weeks manually ‘return’ the item and let the owning library know so that they can search their shelves. If you did not find the item, you have several options. In some cases, the patron does actually have the item and it was checked out incorrectly. You can contact the patron to see if they have the item, or wait the 3 weeks (the normal due date) and see if it returns. If you do not find the item it will automatically generate on the list the next time that you run cancel holds. Once you are sure that the item is nowhere to be found and is not coming back, manually ‘check in’ the item and alert the pcirc contact at the owning library that the item will not be returning.
