WELCOME Back to School! Mrs. Blakley 2017-2018 Room K101

Meet Your TEACHER Born and raised in So. Cal (Long Beach) B.A. in Sociology and teaching credential from Sonoma State 8th year teaching, 7th in Kindergarten Married to Steve and we have an incredibly handsome son, Henry.

Daily SCHEDULE 8:35 Arrival/ Morning Warm up Review 8:45 Calendar/ Social Studies 9:00 ELA 9:30 Math 10:00 Writing(T-F)/Game Day (Monday) 10:30 Snack 11:00 Science/Social Studies 11:30 Thematic Learning/ Art 12:00 Activity Time (Centers)/ Pack- up 12:26 Dismissal 12:26-1:26 STARTING IN OCTOBER: Focus Groups (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays)

Class POLICIES Behavior Policy Every student is expected to try their best both in and out of the classroom. A huge emphasis is placed on taking responsibility for one's own actions and facing the consequences that may result. I firmly believe in a positive learning environment. When disruption takes place everyone loses valuable learning time. Students will move their clothespin either up or down depending on their behavior. Later in the year, we typically move to different systems.

Class POLICIES Birthdays Your child's special day is important to me too! Birthdays are important milestones for children. We DO NOT allow birthday treats being distributed at school. Instead, we ask that you bring 25 non-perishable items to contribute to our birthday goody bags on AUGUST 25TH. These items will be placed in a goody bag and passed out to each child when it is their birthday. Summer birthdays will be celebrated during the last month of school.  ***Please be aware that food items such as cupcakes will not be distributed at school.***

Class POLICIES Snack & Water Your child should bring a healthy snack to recess each day. No candy No nuts Students are allowed to bring a water bottle to school. Please make sure to only send a water bottle that is "spill proof“. If your child has difficulty opening and closing a plastic one, it can spill all over their work. Lunch Kindergarten at Amador does not include lunch. Please be sure to provide your child with a healthy and balanced snack.

Classroom RULES School Rules: Be Respectful Be Responsible Be Ready to Learn Five class rules Kindergarten Promise

Homework POLICY Starting in September, there will be nightly homework. •Assignments to be found on my website. •Due Friday! If homework is not turned in Friday (to the homework basket) it will not be counted. I do not accept late homework (unless already discussed prior to Friday)

Grading POLICY Kindergarten grades are done a little differently than the rest of the school. We do comprehensive testing each trimester. You will receive a report card three a times year as well.

Attendance POLICY School starts at 8:35 Once doors are closed, you are late. You MUST check in with the office. All early dismissals MUST go through the office. If your student will be missing more than 5 consecutive days, you can go on Independent study. You set this up with the office AT LEAST 10 days in advance.

Field TRIPS All on-site Many throughout the year Volunteers will be needed, and I will get that information to you as soon as I have it!

I can’t wait for classroom volunteers...in October! Parent VOLUNTEERS I can’t wait for classroom volunteers...in October! My sign up will be available soon.
