11/23/2018 2:09 AM Why FLAC? Prior to using FLAC, we were using a local solution called our TLU System (Teacher Load Units). There was no clear application. The “System” was a POS (Pile of Spaghetti “Code”), comprised of multiple views, tables and inline calculations. Nobody really knew how it worked and it was seemingly decoupled from Banner. Current Issues Different Rates/Setup Per Term PEAFACT – No Effective Term Data. One record for All terms. This causes problems for us because we give Contract/Full Time Faculty a Different Summer Step/Rate PEPFLAC – (NBAJOBS, Begin dates; multiple primary contract type) PEPFLAC throws an error when it wants to give a Posn/Suff a primary contract type but a different Posn/Suff already is set as primary. Direction of Flow/Mid Term scheduling changes Issues can arise because data only flows forward. If there are mid-term changes and a Faculty Member ends employment before end of term, the NBAJOB record is terminated. However there is data left in the “PERF%” tables.
