JEFF DAVIS ELEMENTARY 2016-2017

Ms. Morgan Brand Hi there! As alumni of Biloxi, I am so proud to work in one of the best districts in the state. It is my fourth year teaching; however, it is my first teaching Kindergarten. This is a thrilling new opportunity that I can’t wait to take on with you! Creativity is one of the most important traits of each individual, and getting to know each student is a priority.

Come with a great attitude Appear prepared and on time Be involved

Going to lunch- wait to be called by lunch choice in the line Entering the classroom- put away your folder, hang up your backpack, choose your lunch, sharpen pencils, use the restroom, and begin morning work Going to lunch- wait to be called by lunch choice in the line Going to specials or recess- wait for the teacher to call you individually. Your area must be clean, and you must be seated quietly before being called upon. Leaving for home- buses will be divided upon different classes in order to ensure getting on the bus. Stay in your seat whether that is at your table, on the carpet, or at the center. If you need anything, there are hand signals for efficiency.

Aprons Books Come and read with us!

Shirt sleeves must be three fingers wide Shorts must be length of the child’s fingertips Only natural colored hair Any shoes- please watch for P.E. days though; tennis shoes must be worn on those days

If it’s sent home, it’s important. I do not like busy work. One request- please make time to read with your learning child.

Students are allowed on campus at 8:20 Kids can have breakfast then The tardy bell rings at 8:40 You can walk your child to the classroom for the first week Each teacher will be responsible for two buses at dismissal. We will make sure that each student gets to the correct bus. Please do not send notes changing ways to get home.

You may write two parent notes that allow excused absences You may write two parent notes that allow excused absences. After that, doctor's’ notes will be accepted. Students cannot have more than ten absences. Please encourage your student to attend school. Each day is incredibly important.

Are there grades? Not conventional letter grades; instead there is a 1-4 rating scale. Can my child bring a snack? Not necessary! Please be sure to confirm allergies because we will supply a snack for you. Wonderful, right? Can I come to lunch? Absolutely.
