What will be covered? Changes to SEN

SEN Changes to the Children and Families Bill has resulted in a new indicative draft Code of Practice for SEND – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities These changes will be for England only, but the SEN area in SIMS is being updated too

SEN – Statutory changes Changes to School Action, School Action Plus and Statement Education, Health and Care Plans. Change to unify approach across all three sectors giving a more joined up approach New category, hopefully to be defined with Draft Code of Practice – possibly called School Support School Support

SEN – Statutory Changes Actual Status Ability to apply for an EHCP Ability to review statuses at either of the two new levels, as previously Ability to have pupils/students on any SEN status new or old within SIMS

Homepage and Student Teacher View

Student Teacher View Setup It is now possible to order all 6 Aspects on the Student Teacher View. It is also possible to view individual student conduct by either points or incidents Show STV (Grenetta Abbey), show aspects, show points. CLOSE Go to STV setup change order of Aspects for year 9, change from behaviour points to behaviour incidents SAVE Reopen Grenetta Abbey, show change in order

Student Teacher View Timeline Previously, classes where there were multiple supervisors showed as multiple boxes on the Student Teacher View These supervisors have now been merged into one box and show in brackets after the main class teacher See 9y/Sc3 for demonstrating this.

Attendance Widgets Present + Authorised Absence is now being changed to Present + AEA in all places that it previously occurred. Label and actual calculation Student Teacher View: Attendance Widget and Intervention Widget Homepage Attendance Widget All instances of attendance on the homepage and Student Teacher View now have 2 decimal places

Attendance Widgets Missing marks are now included on the Homepage widgets, giving you a quick overview of which cohorts have missing marks.
