Uniform General High standard, very well presented, promotes image of school. Please label all clothing. If your child isn’t wearing the appropriate uniform please let us know why. No rings, bracelets, chains or hoops for health & safety reasons Physical Education - Full change of appropriate clothing for activities to ensure comfort and hygiene.
Healthy Eating and Allergies Healthy Eating Policy - Healthy snacks for break and lunch. Please avoid crisps, fizzy drinks, chocolate bars etc. for breaks Nut and Fish Allergies - Be conscious that several pupils in the school experience allergy issues. Dinners £2.60 per day. Please try and pay for your child’s dinner(s) on a Monday if possible.
Curriculum Communication Using Maths World Around Us The Arts - Reading - Writing - Talking & Listening - Linguistic phonics Using Maths -Written, Mental, Problem Solving and Practical Activities. World Around Us - Topic based: Term 1 –The Vikings. Term 2 – Fairtrade Term3 – Forces and Moneywise. The Arts - Art & Design, Music, Drama.

Religious Education - Grow in Love Programme.me. Physical Education - Games - Dance - Athletics - Gymnastics - Swimming (Sep – Oct) Personal Development and Mutual Understanding -Taught across all areas of the curriculum. - Continue to help pupils’ holistic development and sense of belonging.

Assessment for Learning In Class Assessments - Friday tests – spellings and tables. PLEASE SIGN YOUR CHILD’S TEST BOOK AT THE WEEKEND. - Continual monitoring of progress with positive, constructive feedback to pupils including targets. - Pupil self-assessment ‘traffic light system’ Formal Assessments - CAT4, PTE, PTM and NGRT testing in Sept and again in May. - Termly assessments - End of year assessments: - English - Reading - Maths - Mental Maths Transfer meeting in Spring.
Homework Monday to Thursday. Used to consolidate class learning. Communication and Maths homework. Reading every night, spellings and mental maths. Please sign your child’s homework daily.
Other Information Mobile Phones Vetting Forms - No longer required for assisting with supervision on educational trips. Contact/ Medical Information - Ensure the office has up to date information. Attendance & Punctuality - Ensure good punctuality and inform the school of any absences. Mobile Phones - Only if necessary, to be given to teacher at 9.00am (switched off), returned at home time.
