Allstream – Prophix story Operating since: 1980 Head office: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Annual revenue: > $1.5 billion Number of employees: 6,000 G/L or ERP: SAP Company website: www.allstream.com Company background: Allstream Inc. provides communication solutions for midsized and enterprise businesses, and the public sector in the United States and Canada. The company offers various solutions, including security and risk management, Internet protocol, contact centre, collaboration, digital ink, public sector, radio frequency identification, and storage solutions. Business problems that lead to evaluating CPM, adopting Prophix: Allstream runs IBM Cognos for financial consolidation and SAP as their ERP. They needed full financial reporting– preferably automated. They had many complex formulas from their work with Excel and Cognos. They relied on Excel spreadsheets to produce their revenue forecasts and plans. This involved manual work across many files. They selected Prophix because we will provide them with the capability to automate the manual and repetitive processes, accommodate the increasing level of complexity in both data and analytics, improve accuracy and deliver consistent reports.

Supporting data: Their Prophix solution: Loading flat files into Prophix from Excel (this was more cost effective). Budgeting Capital Expenditures (CapEx) planning Personnel planning Revenue planning Sales planning Currency conversion, which they plan to use down the line. Right now their consolidation works in Cognos Per Phil Gravel on 6/18/2014: Prophix has provided a flexible and centralized reporting and analytical tool to guide decision making and analysis on financial performance. Specifically, the solution includes: 4 centralized revenue models to streamline the budget process Automatic data integration without requiring human intervention to manipulate additional spreadsheets or data downloads A financial model which allows them to create and maintain a 5 year rolling forecast Future plans: Allocations (?) – cash flow contributions by department Potentially dashboards and KPIs
